E.ON’s Generous Offer for Homes with Solar Panels

E.ON, a leading energy company, is pleased to announce an exclusive offer for its customers who work from home, providing a substantial reduction of £913 off their energy bills. This enticing opportunity is available to individuals who work remotely or are homebound for any other reason.

In a recent communication to its customers, E.ON unveiled their offer, which includes a £713 discount on bills over the next year, along with an additional £200 off the cost of solar panel installation. Furthermore, the company highlighted the potential for customers to ‘earn money back’ through the installation of solar panels. These panels have the capability to generate electricity from sunlight, resulting in long-term savings on upfront costs and potential payments for generating power for the National Grid.

The communication from E.ON stated, “We’re here to share some exciting news with you. You could start saving up to £713 a year on your energy with a little help from the sun. With our exclusive solar SEG tariffs, you can also earn money back by exporting excess solar energy generated by your solar panel system into the grid. So, you could literally save some cash by harnessing the sun.”

In addition to the enticing money-saving opportunity, E.ON further explained that the calculations for savings are based on a south-facing solar array situated in central England, on a roof with a 35-degree tilt and no shading. This scenario is based on a property using 4,800kWh of electricity units per year, with the customer being home all day.

The company clarified, “These are example figures only, based on standardised MCS calculations. Savings are based on a property fitted with a south-facing solar array in central England on a roof with a 35-degree tilt and no shading, with electricity consumption of 4,800 kWh per year (with the customer Home all day), at a tariff rate of 22.40p/kWh (the Ofgem Energy Price Cap rate from 01 July 2024). The solar array contains 12 x 435W panels (5.22 kWp) generating 4,881 kWh/year, fitted with a 5.1 kWh (5.1 kWh usable) battery.”

While E.ON offers solar panels starting at approximately £5,000, it is important to note that prices can vary among different installers. The potential return on investment is significant, with the example of a £7,500 investment in solar panels and a battery yielding a savings of £700 a year. This means that the initial cost of installation could be recouped within 12 years, with the added benefit of enjoying approximately 13 years of profits before the panels require replacement.

Customers are encouraged to explore this promising opportunity with careful consideration, as the potential for substantial savings and earnings through solar panel installation is a compelling prospect for those who work from home.
