The Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) is preparing to launch the Start-up and Entrepreneurship Grand Challenge on the 27th and 28th of June, 2024. This collaborative event with Startup Punjab, Govt. of Punjab aims to cultivate innovative ideas and promote entrepreneurship in the veterinary and livestock sector.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, has underscored the primary objective of the event, which is to inspire students and stakeholders to think innovatively and engage in entrepreneurship. Sethi, the Director of Veterinary and Livestock Innovation and Incubation Foundation and Dean of the College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, has stated that this is the first time the Vet Varsity has hosted such a grand challenge. The response has been overwhelming, with 200 participants registering for the event and a total of 86 innovative ideas being submitted. Participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas in front of an expert panel, and the top three ideas will be awarded cash prizes. Additionally, a series of lectures focusing on various aspects of entrepreneurship and start-ups will be conducted as part of the event.
