OQ Technology, a prominent satellite IoT company, has recently disclosed that its subsidiary in Greece, OQ Technology Hellas, has secured a contract for an EU project focused on 5G cybersecurity policies. The project, known as Security Assessments for Networks and Services in 5G (SAND5G), has brought together a consortium of eight partners, including the University of Patras, P-NET, Sphynx Hellas, WINGS ICT Solutions, Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy, and the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance.
This noteworthy initiative falls under the comprehensive Digital Europe Programme and is aimed at establishing a risk and impact assessment platform to assist 5G stakeholders in strengthening their systems and services against potential cybersecurity threats. As part of their involvement in the project, OQ Technology will conduct a satellite IoT pilot to evaluate two potential network architectures for OQ satellites using 5G core network and deploying communication with field IoTs. Furthermore, the company will be responsible for producing an interim report to support the overall objectives of the project.
