June heralded the eagerly anticipated arrival of summer, and there was much to admire about the month. From enchanting concerts and thrilling live performances to a refreshing vacation in Greece, the recent weeks have been truly memorable.

Embarking on a kayaking excursion to Sandycove near Kinsale was a genuine pleasure. The lively ambiance, with swimmers, paddleboarders, and rowers, was a sight to behold. Nevertheless, parking proved to be somewhat challenging, but it was a small inconvenience considering the enjoyment derived from the experience. Additionally, a visit to the Old Head of Kinsale and the adjacent cliffs left an indelible impression. The Lusitania Memorial Monument there stood out as a prominent highlight.

During the month, we had the pleasure of attending a performance by John Bishop at Live at the Marquee, which was absolutely splendid. And the remarkable show by Blondie at Musgrave Park was truly unforgettable. Furthermore, becoming engrossed in the latest season of Love Island provided a delightful mix of entertainment and drama.

On the other hand, for those seeking a captivating series to indulge in, ‘Bridgerton’ is highly recommended. Its unique portrayal of 19th-century life accompanied by modern music is truly delightful. As for fashion, the resurgence of Crocs has surprised many, but they have quickly become a favourite due to their comfort and style – an unexpected yet welcomed addition to the wardrobe.

In the realm of music, several exciting new musicals based on classic novels, such as ‘The Notebook’ and ‘The Great Gatsby,’ have captured our interest. In the world of film, the Irish Film Institute’s Archive DVD series is a valuable resource for those interested in preserving Irish film history.

The resurgence of Irish pop culture references has been noteworthy, including the stunning silver cowboy boots that made a long-awaited appearance at a Shania Twain concert. Additionally, the charming piano nails added a touch of musical flair.

For enthusiasts of fine cuisine, the introduction of the newest wine bar in town, ‘Old Brennan’s Wine House,’ is of great interest. The establishment offers a selection of over 100 wines, complemented by a variety of delightful treats. And for those with a strong desire to travel, Greece proved to be the ideal escape.

The month was also filled with captivating literary works, including ‘Circe’ by Madeline Miller, ‘Hagstone’ by SinĂ©ad Gleeson, and ‘Blue Sisters’ by Coco Mellors, providing an abundance of literary adventures.

The vivid experiences of June have only whetted our appetite for the delightful summer months ahead. With a delightful balance of adventure, relaxation, and all-round entertainment, we eagerly anticipate what lies ahead.
