Halfpenny Green Wine Estate Collaborates with The Label Makers to Create New Sustainable Wine Labels

3 min read

The Label Makers, an esteemed label manufacturer with a history of accolades, has recently formed a partnership with Halfpenny Green Wine Estate to create a new, environmentally friendly label for their oak-aged Solaris wine, a key feature of their premium selection. This new design, distinguished by a signature coin embedded in the label, is expected to be applied to other bottles within the premium range, with potential expansion to encompass the entire product line.

Originally established over four decades ago, Halfpenny Green Wine Estate has garnered a reputation for producing exceptional wines from its 30-acre vineyard located in South Staffordshire. This family-operated estate offers a variety of wine-tasting experiences, attracting visitors from across the region who appreciate its scenic surroundings and exceptional wine offerings.

The labels are meticulously crafted from uncoated white matt wood-free printing paper with a felt-marked finish, representing a harmonious blend of visual appeal and ecological responsibility. This material is engineered to withstand demanding conditions, equipped with wet strength and fungicidal treatment to ensure the labels maintain their pristine appearance even in moist environments, such as ice buckets. Furthermore, the laminate incorporates 70% post-consumer recycled content (PCR), underscoring the brand’s dedication to sustainability.

Employing advanced printing techniques, the new labels incorporate full-color digital printing, intricate lines, foils, embossing, high-build spot varnish, and spot flexo on the coin detail and colours, resulting in an impressive visual impact. The redesigned coin, now a prominent feature, greatly enhances the label’s aesthetic allure. The Studio Group, a prestigious design agency based in Wolverhampton, spearheaded all aspects of the branding and redesign.

Julian Sollom, the head of sales at Halfpenny Green Wine Estate, conveyed his satisfaction with The Label Makers, affirming, “As far as we are concerned, The Label Makers have been the preeminent choice in the industry for beverage labels since August 2017, when we first engaged with them. Our enduring partnership has consistently yielded premium labels that are impeccably tailored for their intended purpose.”

Dan Wilson, the business development manager at The Label Makers, underscored the significance of transparent communication between the company and the client throughout the project, stating, “Clarity in our communication with the client throughout the project was pivotal in ensuring strict adherence to the brief, enabling us to maximize the potential of the design details. We take pride in our involvement in this project and its ongoing success, and eagerly anticipate future collaborations with them.”
