Empowering College Students to Embrace Entrepreneurship

The Government Degree College Ganderbal recently organized a significant event with the aim of fostering entrepreneurship acumen among its graduating students. The event, arranged by the Institute’s Innovation Cell (IIC) in partnership with the Ministry of Educations Innovation Cell, AICTE, and IIC- Ministry of HRD, featured a series of impactful lectures and activities designed to ignite innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among the students.

The event was attended by Prof Fouzia Fatima, the Principal of the college, who lauded the efforts of the Institute’s Innovation Cell in coordinating such a crucial programme. She underscored the vital role of innovation in shaping the future and urged the student community to embrace innovative thinking.

Dr Sameera Siraj, the HoD Zoology and Convener IIC, delivered the welcome address and outlined the program’s goal of promoting innovative thinking and entrepreneurial culture on campus. The event included two expert speakers who shared their insights and experiences to inspire the students.

The first speaker, Dr Farzana Gulzar, an associate professor from the School of Business Studies at the University of Kashmir, delivered an interactive and engaging talk, involving the audience in various activities to stimulate out-of-the-box thinking. The second expert, Dr Fayaz Ahmed Ganaie, a successful entrepreneur, shared his journey from being a job seeker to becoming the owner of a multi-million dollar company, providing valuable insights on turning ideas into reality.

Dr Tahira Naqvi, Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry, facilitated the proceedings of the programme, while Dr Mansha Nisar, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, delivered a formal vote of thanks. The event was well-attended by heads of departments, faculty members, and students, who displayed great enthusiasm in listening to the esteemed speakers and engaging in intensive interactions.
