Dana, a prominent supplier of automotive parts, has recently unveiled a new security label for its products through a partnership with Authentic Vision. The primary objective of this endeavor is to protect customers from falling prey to counterfeit products in the market.
The newly introduced Dana Secure Label will be prominently featured on Victor Reinz brand products, which encompass various sealing and shielding systems, gaskets, and fuel cell components. The label is equipped with a singular, serialized QR code and an integrated hologram containing a unique digital fingerprint, facilitating effortless verification of product authenticity. It is important to note that the label is typically affixed to the product’s packaging, although in certain instances, it is directly applied to the product itself.
Dana has underscored that scanning the QR code using the Dana Secure App on a smartphone will promptly disclose whether the product is a genuine Dana item or a potentially hazardous counterfeit. According to the company, this authentication process yields definitive results and ensures that the QR code and digital fingerprint cannot be duplicated.
In an effort to educate consumers about the process, Dana has developed a video tutorial demonstrating how the label and the accompanying app can be utilized to authenticate Victor Reinz sealants and gasket removers. Furthermore, in addition to verifying the authenticity of the products, the label grants access to valuable product and technical service information, as well as installation instructions for replacement parts.
Considering the escalating global prevalence of counterfeiting, Dana intends to expand the use of this security label to encompass other products within its range. This expansion will include Spicer drivetrain products and Glaser cylinder head gaskets, which will integrate the security labels later this year.
Alfred Wimmer, Dana’s product manager aftermarket EMEA, has lauded the functionality of Authentic Vision’s authentication solution. He has commended the seamless delivery of pertinent product data to customers while ensuring that they are in possession of authentic Dana products. Wimmer has also expressed his gratitude for Authentic Vision’s adaptability in tailoring their solution to meet Dana’s specific requirements, leading to a swift global rollout of the program with minimal integration effort.
In conclusion, Dana’s implementation of security labels in cooperation with Authentic Vision is a proactive measure in reinforcing its dedication to delivering genuine, high-quality products to consumers. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and authentication solutions, Dana is not only enhancing its brand reputation but also elevating the overall customer experience.
