Over 32,000 tickets have been sold ahead of the official inauguration. Burton commented on the display, noting how impressive it was to see his collected works, some of which he was unaware existed, presented in a beautiful manner. “I remember the first time (I saw it), I didn’t really know what they were doing and it was just very shocking,” he said, highlighting the exhibition’s funhouse-like feel and the well-thought-out layout enhanced by lighting and sound. The travelling collection, with 90 new additions, has visited 14 cities across 11 countries in its decade-long journey. Key pieces include characters from “Mars Attacks!” (1996), “Alice in Wonderland” (2010), and “Corpse Bride” (2005). The exhibition is divided into sections reflecting different stages of Burton’s career, culminating in a cinema experience showcasing a newly commissioned film. Due to high demand, the exhibition will extend its hours, and tickets range from £19.69 for adults to £9.85 for children aged six to 15, with under-sixes free. Additionally, the Design Museum will release a new book titled “Tim Burton: Designing Worlds.”
