London and Chongqing Celebrate Chinese New Year with Festive Screen Connection

Residents of London and Chongqing connected through a festive screen at King’s Cross station, celebrating the Chinese New Year. The event, themed ‘Nihao! China. Let’s Meet’, allowed real-time greetings and digital postcards exchanges, showcasing the cultural allure of both cities. It was organised by the Western China International Communication Organization and the Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation.

A large screen displaying the stilt-building complex Hongyadong in Chongqing and London’s iconic Tower Bridge was set up at King’s Cross station in London during the festive period. This event was themed “Nihao! China. Let’s Meet”. Visitors were invited to wave to friends in Chongqing through live broadcasts, exchanging New Year wishes and creating digital postcards at the New Year Post Office.

The event, which concluded on Monday, aimed to highlight the cultural charm of both London and Chongqing. Organised by the Western China International Communication Organization and the Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation, it served as a platform for connection between residents of the two cities.
