Palazzo Strozzi will host an exhibition celebrating 20 years of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women. Palazzo Strozzi in Florence will host an exhibition titled “Time for Women! Empowering Visions in 20 Years of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women,” celebrating two decades of this significant award for women-identified artists. The collaboration between Max Mara, Whitechapel Art Gallery, and Collezione Maramotti showcases works from nine past winners, illustrating women’s evolution in contemporary art.

It showcases projects developed during the artists’ Italian residency at the heart of the prize, featuring videos, installations, and sculptures.

The Max Mara Art Prize for Women, established in 2005, is the first visual arts award dedicated to emerging women artists in the UK. It provides necessary time and space for artists to create ambitious projects, culminating in exhibitions at Whitechapel Gallery and Collezione Maramotti that feature works acquired over the years.
