Vice President Iliana Iotova will officially open Bulgaria’s stand at the London Book Fair on March 11. This marks Bulgaria’s second consecutive year at the event, which is the world’s second largest book fair, following the New York Book Fair.
The Bulgarian stand is organised under the Vice President’s patronage and in collaboration with the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London. It will feature prominent Bulgarian authors, many of whom have English translations, along with translators, publishers, and literary agencies.
Various meetings will connect Bulgarian and British writers, translators, and publishers with London readers, hosted at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and Hatchards, the oldest bookshop in London. Iotova will also engage with the local Bulgarian community and Sunday schools.
In addition, Iotova has scheduled discussions with Joan McCartney, London’s Deputy Mayor for Children and Families, according to the press release.
