John Farrell, a furniture designer from Tullamore, represented Ireland at the international craft fair, Collect, held in London from February 28 to March 2. The fair was hosted at Somerset House and served as a dynamic platform for museums and art advisors to acquire contemporary artworks, as well as for interior designers to select pieces for clients seeking to enhance their spaces with craft.
Farrell was among 14 distinguished craftspersons selected to represent Ireland, showcasing a range of disciplines from woodturning to ceramics. Collect 2025 featured over 400 contemporary artists from more than 40 leading galleries, dealers, and collectives, hailing from 30 countries including the UK, Asia, Africa, America, Europe, and the Middle East.
The Design & Craft Council Ireland (DCCI), supported by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, collaborated with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Crafts Council UK to present this remarkable exhibition of Irish talent in London.
