Abdul Latif Al-Wasil, CEO of the commission, emphasises that Saudi Arabia’s participation highlights the nation’s commitment to enhancing its literary presence internationally. The focus is on three primary areas: literature, publishing, and translation, promoting Saudi cultural heritage and fostering collaboration with global literary stakeholders.
The Saudi pavilion aims to facilitate cultural exchange with the UK by promoting knowledge-sharing in literature and publishing, and showcasing Saudi publishing services. It offers opportunities for local literary agencies to reach larger audiences and to cultivate strategic partnerships within the global publishing sector.
The Saudi delegation features five pivotal government bodies: the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, the King Abdulaziz Foundation, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahd National Library, and the Publishing Association.
