Chelsea FC opened ‘This Game is What We Make It’ exhibition at Saatchi Gallery to celebrate its 120th anniversary. The exhibition features artworks from the Blue Creator Fund, showcases impactful stories from the Chelsea Foundation, and celebrates the club’s cultural history.
Chelsea Football Club launched a special exhibition, “This Game is What We Make It,” at Saatchi Gallery on Friday, marking their 120th anniversary. This free exhibition invites Blues supporters to explore Chelsea’s rich history and future, open throughout the weekend and on Monday.
The launch featured the unveiling of creations by last year’s Blue Creator Fund winners. This initiative, created by Chelsea Foundation and VERSUS, promotes underrepresented creatives. Five original works highlight Chelsea’s culture through various artistic mediums, including fashion and film.
Additionally, the exhibition includes a dedicated segment showcasing 12 individuals positively impacted by the Chelsea Foundation, which supported over 10,000 people last year. “The case studies and the Blue Creator Fund demonstrate our meaningful impact together,” stated Laura Cordingley, CEO of Chelsea Foundation.
The exhibition also displays iconic shirts from Chelsea’s archive in “The Vault,” presenting pivotal football moments alongside short films. Also featured is “Made in Chelsea,” celebrating the club’s cultural influence with music styles, memorabilia, and fan photography by John Ingledew, a lifelong Chelsea supporter. Live DJ performances by famous supporters are scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
The launch of the exhibition at Saatchi Gallery not only celebrates Chelsea FC’s 120-year history but also highlights the club’s ongoing commitment to the community through the Chelsea Foundation and the Blue Creator Fund. With engaging displays and cultural tributes, it offers fans a unique opportunity to connect with the club’s legacy and impact.
