The Wales Contemporary Art exhibition opens in Milford Haven, showcasing global talent with a total prize fund of £15,000. Now in its fifth year, it invites public engagement through the Welsh Public Choice Prize, with diverse artworks on display until May 17. The Wales Contemporary Art exhibition has debuted in Milford Haven, showcasing talent from Wales and abroad. Established by the Waterfront Gallery in 2019, it is supported by the Port of Milford Haven and has become a vital platform for contemporary artworks globally.

Now in its fifth year, artists can present their two and three-dimensional works in both central London and Milford Haven. This year’s exhibition features a total prize fund of £15,000. After launching last month at Chelsea Barracks, it is now displayed at the Waterfront Gallery.

The Welsh Public Choice Prize selections are underway, with the winner to be revealed at the closing event on May 17. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favourite piece, which can earn the artist a £1,000 prize. This year’s entries saw a remarkable 1,600 submissions from over 800 artists, with works including paintings, sculptures, prints, ceramics, textiles, and glass.

Lucy Wonnacott from the Port of Milford Haven expressed enthusiasm for sponsoring the exhibition for five years, aiming to showcase world-class artwork in Milford Haven. She invited everyone in Pembrokeshire to visit and engage with the magnificent art on display, highlighting its inspiration for local artists.

The exhibition is open until May 17 at the Waterfront Gallery, from Tuesday to Saturday between 10.30 am and 4 pm, with free entry for all.
