Christina Aguilera and Sia’s musical adaptation of *Burlesque* will hit the West End this summer, replacing the *Mean Girls* show at the Savoy Theatre. The production involves revamped songs, new material, and a limited engagement from 11 July to 6 September.

Christina Aguilera and Sia are adapting the film Burlesque into a musical for the West End. The original film, released in 2010, featured Aguilera playing a dancer finding success at Cher’s burlesque lounge in LA. Despite its modest success, Aguilera has partnered with writer Steve Antin and Sia to create a full musical version, which had tryouts in Manchester and Glasgow last year.

This new musical will replace Mean Girls at the Savoy Theatre, running from 11 July to 6 September. Aguilera, who is also a producer, has revamped the film’s songs, and some new tracks have been written by Toderick Hall and Jess Folley, both of whom participated in earlier performances. While casting details are yet to be confirmed, their return is a possibility due to previous involvement in the production.

The musical is produced and written by Steven Antin, who directed the original movie, with extra material provided by Kate Wetherhead. The current promotional materials do not mention Nick Winston, who directed the original run, leading to speculation about future creative decisions. The show’s limited run hints at the possibility for a future transfer or return in a later season.

The upcoming *Burlesque the Musical* brings together Christina Aguilera and Sia for a reimagined stage adaptation of the 2010 film. Set for a limited run at the Savoy Theatre this summer, it promises a mix of original and new music with a potential for additional performances in the future. As it replaces *Mean Girls*, excitement builds around its West End debut.
