Launching on July 25, The Legend of TITANIC: The Immersive Exhibition at Dock X, Canada Water promises a unique historical experience featuring augmented reality, immersive exhibits, and family-friendly activities focused on the Titanic’s tragic story. Guests can engage with actual artefacts, enjoy VR experiences, and partake in interactive games, all designed to bring history to life.
This summer, Londoners with a keen interest in history can look forward to an engaging experience at The Legend of TITANIC: The Immersive Exhibition. Opening on July 25 at Dock X, Canada Water, this high-tech event is set to captivate its audience for around two hours with a detailed exploration of the Titanic’s tragic tale.
The exhibition boasts an augmented reality recreation of Southampton Harbour, alongside actual and replica artefacts. Visitors can explore first and third class cabins, while also taking a dive into the rich history of one of the world’s most famous ships. There’s even a virtual reality tribute to the Titanic’s renowned orchestra.
A film chronicling the Titanic’s fateful voyage adds to the experience. The exhibition features a 5D metaverse that engages all senses—think sights, sounds, and even smells—while giving a taste of what life was like aboard the massive liner.
Upon entering the venue, guests will receive boarding passes and gather for a virtual welcome from Captain Smith. The journey begins with the sounds of seagulls and steam engines, immersing visitors in the ship’s atmosphere as they prepare for the iconic experience.
The exhibition takes attendees through narrow third-class corridors before entering a lavish first-class lounge, showcasing a mix of original and recreated artefacts. A standout feature is the immersive showroom with impressive 360° projections that provide unparalleled views of the Titanic’s catastrophic sinking.
As people exit the immersive space, they’ll find informative panels detailing the ship’s story, its passengers, and the various myths surrounding the tragedy, all curated by historians. There’s also a family-friendly activity room, where children can draw their own Titanic illustrations that will be digitally displayed, and engage in an interactive quiz about the ship’s ill-fated journey.
Visitors can utilise AI technology that even lets them dress up as passengers from 1912, adding a very personal touch to their experience. To cap off a day of exploration, guests can relax at the Café de Parisien, inspired by the cafe onboard, serving delightful tea and pastries.
Located within over 3,000 square metres of striking industrial space, Dock X is tailor-made for large-scale events like this. Notably, The Legend of TITANIC follows a successful exhibition on Tutankhamun’s Egyptian afterlife by FKP Scorpio Entertainment, which has received attention in cities such as Madrid and Munich.
The Legend of TITANIC: The Immersive Exhibition offers a unique experience that blends history, technology, and entertainment. From augmented reality recreations to an interactive quiz for kids, it promises to engage all ages. Not only does it pay tribute to the Titanic’s legacy, but it also immerses visitors in the ship’s atmosphere, allowing them to connect with the past in a memorable way. With tickets available soon, it’s poised to be a must-see event this summer.
