Elon Musk, the proprietor of Twitter, has recently issued a challenge to Mark Zuckerberg for a cage fight, bringing attention to his fitness and health journey. Musk claims that he does not engage in regular workout routines, yet his approach to maintaining good health has evolved over time.
In a 2014 interview with the German car magazine Auto Bild, Musk disclosed that he exercises 1 to 2 times per week. He also provided insights into his dietary and drinking habits, revealing that he consumes one or two Diet Cokes per day, a significant reduction from his previous intake of eight, along with a couple of coffees. Musk admitted to occasional overeating at business dinners and expressed a desire to achieve a slimmer physique.
By 2018, Musk informed The New York Times that he was working an astounding 120 hours per week, leading to concerns from his friends. He was sleeping less than seven hours a day and even resorted to sleeping on the floor of the Tesla factory. Musk’s attitude towards exercise appeared to deteriorate as he expressed on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast in 2020 that he does not derive pleasure from working out and would rather indulge in tasty food, even if it meant living a shorter life.
Despite his reluctance to engage in regular exercise, Musk has experimented with combat and fighting sports, having dabbled in Taekwondo, karate, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He also mentioned occasionally lifting weights and running on the treadmill while watching television. Additionally, Musk has also attempted a weight-loss drug and resorted to fasting to achieve his desired physical form.
In 2023, Musk’s tweets provided insight into his unconventional workout routine, stating that throwing his kids in the air is essentially his only form of exercise. He also admitted to consuming a donut every morning while asserting that he is still “alive and kicking.”
Musk’s father, Errol Musk, expressed concerns about his son’s dietary habits and physique, suggesting that Elon consider using diet pills. In response, Elon revealed his toned physique in October of the same year, attributing his transformation to the weight-loss drug, Wegovy, as well as fasting, which made him “feel healthier.”
Despite his unconventional approach to fitness and health, Elon Musk continues to engage in thought-provoking conversations and challenges, making his personal journey a compelling topic for many.
