Empowering Entrepreneurship in Northeast India: NEHHDC and Assam Startup Collaborate to Spark Change

In a momentous collaboration aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in Northeast India, the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Limited (NEHHDC) and Assam Startup – The Nest recently co-hosted an engaging Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) in the bustling city of Guwahati.

Led by the Department of Livelihood & Entrepreneurship (DoL&E) under NEHHDC, the programme signifies a strong dedication to raising awareness among students and aspiring entrepreneurs in the region.

Aligned with a broader vision, DoL&E, mandated by the Ministry of MSME, has committed to organizing 100 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAP) and 50 Entrepreneurship cum Skill Development Programs (ESDP) across the Northeastern Region (NER). This initiative goes beyond mere dissemination of information; it actively seeks to provide invaluable mentorship and guidance to budding business owners, recognizing the pivotal role of such support in achieving long-term success.

Dr. Sriparna B Baruah, esteemed advisor at DoL&E, NEHHDC, with over 36 years of experience, underscores the significance of mentorship and networking in the context of businesses in the Northeast. As a seasoned professional, Dr. Baruah’s insights shed light on the unique challenges and opportunities that define the entrepreneurial landscape in the region.

The event, graced by Shri Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, ACS, Managing Director of Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC), as the Chief Guest, offered invaluable perspectives on entrepreneurship and the economic growth potential of the region.
