In the pursuit of sustainability, Turkish startups are being provided with a new opportunity to advance their ventures. Türkiye Girişimcilik Vakfı and Hackquarters, in collaboration with Işbank, have introduced Workup4Future, a program dedicated to supporting sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives in Türkiye. The primary objective of the program is to contribute to the expansion of the ecosystem by connecting startups with impact investors and industry experts, as well as providing them with the necessary tools for success.
The seven startups chosen for the inaugural phase of the program are Binamod, From Your Eyes, Some Carbon, Swatchloop, VerdantWave, Waste Log, and Workybe. These startups have been selected for their potential to create a positive impact within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Over the course of a four-month program, they will receive technological and infrastructure support, business model development, mentorship, and training, laying the groundwork for their growth and scalability.
Furthermore, the startups will have the opportunity to engage with investors such as Maxis Venture Capital Investment Fund, Founder One, and Arya Venture Capital Investment Fund, as well as Işbank 100th Year Venture Capital. They will also gain access to networking opportunities with Işbank and its group companies, as well as Türkiye Girişimcilik Vakfı’s national and international network. Additionally, the startups will benefit from the convenience of free office space at Iş Kule Workup Area.
With this support, these startups are poised to make significant strides in the sustainability sector. For instance, Binamod is focused on earthquake risk assessment and disaster management scenarios, while Some Carbon is working on converting emissions from chimneys into sustainable fuels. Similarly, Swatchloop is revolutionising the recycling processes of textile waste, and Waste Log is accelerating waste discovery through its mobile application.
In a separate development, Boğaziçi Ventures has made a strategic investment in Toon Metal Games, a developer of casual and hybrid casual games. This investment highlights Boğaziçi Ventures’ dedication to supporting creative ideas and innovation in the gaming industry. Toon Metal Games, established in 2021, has already made significant strides in casual and hybrid casual game genres, and the investment from Boğaziçi Ventures will further drive their growth and expansion.
Finally, Türk Telekom has organised the “Talking Paintings Digital Art Exhibition,” with the aim of making art accessible to diverse audiences, including visually impaired individuals. This initiative demonstrates Türk Telekom’s commitment to promoting inclusivity in cultural experiences and providing equal opportunities for all through their social responsibility projects.
Through these diverse initiatives, Türkiye’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is poised for growth and advancement, leveraging the support of key stakeholders to drive sustainability, innovation, and accessibility in various industries.
