The district of Kishtwar recently convened an “Entrepreneurship Conference” at the DC office, with Secretary Revenue, Prasanna Ramaswamy G, taking the lead in guiding discussions and dialogue with business aspirants and stakeholders. The aim of the conference was to delve into the challenges and opportunities within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, with a focus on driving economic activities, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the overall development of the district.
The event, presided over by Secretary Revenue and facilitated by the district administration, was graced by a distinguished lineup of officials, including Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav and Additional Deputy Commissioner Inderjeet Singh Parihar, among others, as well as representatives from various associations and groups. The interactive session centered on local issues and concerns related to business development, employment, and economic growth specific to Kishtwar. Emphasis was placed on collaborative initiatives spearheaded by the Employment Department, Mission Youth, and district-level institutions to encourage and support new entrepreneurs.
During the conference, Secretary Revenue underscored the importance of launching sector-specific initiatives and facilitating financial support for budding entrepreneurs. He highlighted the pivotal role of the district administration in driving collaboration with various entities for the growth of local businesses. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar provided insights into the entrepreneurial profile of the district and highlighted various interventions and initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, such as the establishment of Kishtwar Haat, Mission Youth initiatives, and AVSAR scheme implementation.
In addition to the focus on entrepreneurship, efforts have been made in the tourism sector, with initiatives to revive tourism and provide training to youths in mountaineering, winter sports, and water sports. Various training programs have been carried out in collaboration with ITI Kishtwar and SBI RSETI to enhance skills for employment, demonstrating the district’s commitment to uplifting the local community.
Subsequent to the Entrepreneurship Conference, Secretary Revenue presided over a mega public darbar, where he attentively listened to the issues and concerns raised by delegations. Prompt action was taken to address revenue-related demands, affirming the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency. The grievance camps organized during the public darbar were highlighted as a pivotal step towards achieving these ideals, with necessary actions directed to address the issues raised by the participants.
Secretary Revenue also took the opportunity to review the functioning of the Drug Addiction Treatment Facility at District Hospitals, underscoring the need for enhanced collaboration between medical officers, the police department, and stakeholders to combat drug addiction effectively. The role of society and family members in addressing this societal menace was also emphasized, signaling a concerted effort to tackle this issue at its root.
