On January 29, CAWD & Taxes Advisor Kudecho Khamo led the inauguration of the Small Enterprise Development Program (SEDP) for the 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency at the EDA office in Kohima, Nagaland. The primary goal of this initiative is to promote and cultivate entrepreneurship among the local population, with the aim of stimulating economic growth and sustainability in the region.

During his address, Khamo emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship in driving economic activities and overall societal progress. He highlighted the fact that entrepreneurship is still a relatively new concept for many Nagas, who are considered to be the first generation of entrepreneurs. According to Khamo, entrepreneurship is not only crucial for creating employment opportunities, but also essential for societal development and nation-building.

Furthermore, Khamo stressed that the potential for entrepreneurship is limitless, particularly in contrast to the limited availability of government jobs. He emphasized the importance of regarding ‘thinking’ as a form of capital and urged individuals to recognize the value of hard work and enterprise as a solution.

Assisting with the launch, Manish Jain, a Chartered Accountant from Guwahati, Assam, served as the resource person and provided insights into the various forms of enterprises. He encouraged participants to have confidence in their abilities, remain dedicated to their ideas, and uphold discipline in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

Vesupra Luruo and Yota Khesoh, both prominent figures within the NDPP, expressed their support for the program and praised Khamo for his commitment to empowering the residents of the 18th Chozuba AC.

The event was overseen by Thepukrayi Nienu, General Secretary of NDPP, 18th Chozuba AC, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vepozoyi Theyo, Vice-president of NDPP, 18th Chozuba AC.

The inauguration of the Small Enterprise Development Program represents a significant stride towards promoting economic independence and growth within the local communities of Nagaland. As entrepreneurship gains momentum as a crucial component of sustainable development, initiatives like the SEDP are invaluable in paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future.
