Under this initiative, Bedfordshire farmers will be eligible for a 50% discount on DataTags, a technology that is proven to assist law enforcement agencies in the recovery of stolen agricultural equipment. Known as the CESAR scheme, this initiative facilitates the easy identification of farm vehicles and machinery, thereby serving as a deterrent against criminal activities on farms.

Chief Inspector Jim Goldsmith has underscored the significance of the CESAR scheme, stressing its role in preventing agricultural crime. He has articulated that “The CESAR registration database is accessible round the clock, providing crucial support to police officers conducting investigations into equipment detained in suspicious circumstances. This tool is invaluable to both farm owners and the police, and is certain to reduce levels of agricultural crime in Bedfordshire.”

Valued at £40,000, this initiative has been launched by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. Festus Akinbusoye, the commissioner, has expressed confidence in the positive reception of the discounted offer on CESAR data tagging systems among local farmers. He has stated, “We are confident that this half price offer on CESAR data tagging systems will be a much-welcomed and popular security measure amongst our local farmers, providing them with reassurance regarding the security of their vital equipment.”
