Mobileum Chosen by NTT Communications for Global Connected Car Project

Mobileum, a provider of telecom analytics solutions, has recently announced that it has been selected by NTT Communications Corporation to supply the technology platform for their global connected car project. The project will encompass the implementation of a Connected Car suite, inclusive of a connectivity management platform, IoT fraud management, and IoT service assurance solutions.

According to Juniper Research, the number of connected cars is projected to increase by 91% by 2027, surging from 192 million in 2023 to 367 million. This surge is attributed to car manufacturers offering connected car infotainment, safety, and utility services to create new digital revenue streams and enhanced customer experiences. However, to ensure the security and quality of these services, manufacturers necessitate a platform for testing connectivity and safeguarding end-customers.

NTT Communications will rely on Mobileum’s integrated solution, amalgamating a Connectivity Management Platform (CMP) with Service Assurance and Fraud Management solutions to deliver a consistent and high-quality customer experience for car manufacturers. This integrated approach will enable NTT Com to deploy, test, and secure extensive connected infrastructures, addressing the evolving needs of the automotive industry.

The expansion of digital services and connected car fleets has raised concerns regarding continuous connectivity, security, and fraud risks. By integrating a combined Connectivity Management Platform and IoT Fraud Management solution, NTT Com aims to mitigate these risks and ensure a safe and secure IoT connectivity experience for its advanced vehicles and mobility customers.

NTT Com will harness Mobileum’s IoT Fraud Management solution, employing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to evaluate potential risks, establish controls, monitor events, and implement remediation plans as needed. Furthermore, Mobileum’s IoT Service Assurance solution will empower OEMs to furnish reliable services domestically and internationally, ensuring comprehensive coverage and seamless service continuity for IoT deployments.

Yuji Tamai, Director of 5G&IoT Services at NTT Communications, has expressed confidence in Mobileum’s capacity to provide flexible, forward-thinking solutions to enhance customer experience. Raja Hussain, Chief Revenue Officer at Mobileum, has also conveyed his enthusiasm in playing a pivotal role in expanding their underlying connectivity management, testing, security, and fraud prevention capabilities.

Mobileum is dedicated to its presence in Japan and has established a local subsidiary, Mobileum Japan KK, in 2022 to further invest in the country. Those interested in learning more about Mobileum’s IoT & Connected Car solutions can visit their stand at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, from February 26-29, 2024.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Mobileum provides advanced analytics solutions for roaming, core network, security, risk management, domestic and international connectivity testing, and customer intelligence. The company maintains global offices in Australia, Germany, Greece, India, Japan, Portugal, Singapore, the UK, and the United Arab Emirates.

On the other hand, NTT Communications assists enterprises in leveraging managed IT-infrastructure solutions to overcome complexity and risk in their IT environments. The company provides global-scale support for restructuring in industry and society, new workstyles, and digital transformation in communities, leveraging 5G, IoT, and other technologies under the “docomo business” brand.

By integrating Mobileum’s solutions into their global connected car project, NTT Communications is taking significant steps to ensure the safety and security of IoT connectivity for their advanced vehicles and customers.
