Empowering UAE Entrepreneurs: EGA Ramp-Up Season Two Takes Off!

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has recently unveiled the launch of the second season of EGA Ramp-Up, a groundbreaking programme aimed at nurturing the next generation of UAE entrepreneurs. This initiative, under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Economy, offers invaluable guidance and support to entrepreneurs who are dedicated to establishing businesses that will drive economic growth and contribute to the sustainable development of the nation.

Entrepreneurship has been identified as a top priority in the UAE, forming a crucial pillar of the 2071 Centennial Plan. The UAE’s Entrepreneurial Nation strategy 2031 aims to position the country as a global hub for entrepreneurship. With the launch of EGA Ramp-Up Season Two, the commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and enterprise is stronger than ever.

The inaugural season of EGA Ramp-Up saw hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs participate, with the most innovative startups securing a coveted spot at the Investor Pitch Day at EGA’s headquarters in Al Taweelah. This event not only provides mentorship and potential funding opportunities, but also offers the prospect of becoming suppliers and contributing to the growth of promising local businesses.

EGA has taken significant steps to forge partnerships that will support the growth and development of entrepreneurs. Just last month, EGA announced a partnership with EGA Ramp-Up 2023 finalist Nadeera, to launch an innovative recycling solution in communities near the company’s Jebel Ali plant. Their commitment to nurturing local talent and innovation is evident in their collaboration with C3, a UAE-based social enterprise focused on empowering entrepreneurs across the region.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, expressed the company’s dedication to contributing to the UAE’s economic diversification and development. He emphasized the importance of empowering innovators and pacesetters to scale up businesses that will have a lasting positive impact on society. With EGA Ramp-Up’s return for the second year, EGA aims to support the transformation of innovative ideas into reality.

Kevin Holliday, Managing Director of C3 – Companies Creating Change, commended EGA’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and lauded the significant contribution that major companies can make towards shaping the UAE’s economic future. He highlighted the importance of enabling changemakers to drive economic growth and fast-track essential solutions to global challenges.

For the upcoming season, EGA has collaborated with Autodesk, a leading design and make software provider, to power EGA Ramp-Up. This partnership will provide eligible startups with software grants and training services from technology experts, furthering EGA’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and innovation.

Applications for EGA Ramp-Up Season Two are now open and aspiring entrepreneurs and established founders are encouraged to apply for this transformative initiative.
