Revolutionizing Technology Procurement: TePAS 2 Agreement Unveiled

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has officially announced the launch of the Technology Products and Associated Services 2 (TePAS 2) agreement, representing a significant advancement towards streamlining the procurement process for technology products and services within the public sector. This comprehensive new agreement aims to provide public sector customers with a more streamlined and sustainable approach to purchasing digital services, while also introducing a dedicated lot for managing IT in an environmentally friendly manner.

Building upon the achievements of its predecessor, TePAS 2 (RM6098) is strategically designed to deliver value and provide a flexible, expedited, and compliant method for public sector customers to procure all of their technology product and service requirements. This encompasses end-user devices, technology infrastructure, network and security devices, peripherals, and software needs. Notably, the agreement places a strong emphasis on sustainability, implementing a dedicated Lot for recycling, data wiping, secure disposal, and suppliers specialising in extending product life cycles.

Additionally, considerable enhancements have been made to customers’ purchasing options, allowing for alternative procurement methods and specific guidance on leasing, utility, and “as a service” models. These options enable buyers to fund and simplify the procurement process, enabling them to pay only for what they use or spread the payments, ultimately resulting in cost savings.

With TePAS 2 now operational and set to run for an initial term of 30 months, with the potential to extend by a further 18 months, public sector organisations can now procure their technology devices and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software from CCS in one convenient location.

One particularly noteworthy aspect of TePAS 2 is the expanded scope to encompass the full market offering, as well as sector-specific lots for health and education, simplifying the process for customers to consolidate multiple technology requirements into a single agreement. Furthermore, with 63% of the suppliers awarded to the agreement being SMEs, TePAS 2 demonstrates a dedication to supporting the UK Government’s ambition to collaborate with a greater number of small and medium-sized enterprises.

TePAS 2 was developed through individual supplier and customer consultations, webinars, and in-person events, with the aim of creating a framework that more effectively meets market requirements.

To assist interested customers in understanding and maximising the benefits of TePAS 2, CCS continues to host webinars and aggregated competitions, providing them with the opportunity to achieve even greater value for money. For those seeking further information on Technology Products and Associated Services 2, they can visit the agreement webpage or get in touch with the CCS Service Desk at [email protected] or +44 (0)345 410 2222.

In conclusion, the launch of TePAS 2 represents a significant milestone in the procurement of technology products and services for the public sector, demonstrating a dedication to sustainability, customer engagement, and supporting SME involvement. This new agreement presents a more simplified, flexible, and sustainable approach to technology procurement, establishing a new standard for innovation and customer benefit.
