Empowering Young Graduates: Senator Jibrin Isah’s Entrepreneurship Scheme in Kogi East

Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, the distinguished representative of Kogi East, has announced the forthcoming launch of a Graduate Entrepreneurship Scheme. This initiative is designed to provide support and capital for young graduates in the Senatorial District of Kogi State, with the goal of empowering them to initiate and expand their own businesses.

The program, with a vision to empower the youth, will provide seed capital to graduates with entrepreneurial skills who are eager to establish their own ventures. In its initial phase, a total of 10 graduates will be selected to receive one million naira each, with plans to expand the scheme to accommodate up to 100 graduates in the future.

In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Senator Echocho revealed that the program will encompass all nine local government areas within the Senatorial District, which is the largest district in Kogi State and represents a significant portion of the state’s total voter population.

While specifics about the program are currently being finalized, Senator Echocho confirmed that the initial phase will involve providing one million naira to 10 graduates as seed capital to kickstart their entrepreneurial pursuits. He also assured that the scheme will be scaled up to accommodate a larger number of beneficiaries in the future.

Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, Senator Echocho underscored the significance of empowering graduates with the skills and resources necessary for success in entrepreneurship. He emphasized the need to support those proficient in entrepreneurial endeavors who seek opportunities for self-empowerment rather than traditional employment.

To ensure the fair and transparent selection of participants, a selection committee has been established to oversee the process of identifying and selecting beneficiaries, assuring the credibility of the program.

Senator Echocho also recognized the exceptional entrepreneurial spirit of the youth in Kogi East, expressing admiration for their resilience in the face of various challenges. He added that the entrepreneurship scheme aims to provide the necessary support and encouragement for these aspiring young business owners to thrive and excel in their endeavors.

The launch of this initiative comes at a time when there is a growing need to encourage and equip young people with the tools and resources required to harness their entrepreneurial skills for self-empowerment and sustainability. With the Graduate Entrepreneurship Scheme, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho seeks to pave the way for a new generation of successful entrepreneurs in Kogi East.
