Infosecurity Europe, scheduled for 4-6 June 2024, is pleased to announce that Stephanie Hare, a respected technology ethics broadcaster and researcher, will serve as the keynote speaker for the Women in Cybersecurity event. The event, slated for June 5, 2024, at ExCeL London, will feature Ms. Hare as the focal point.
Ms. Hare, renowned for her work on ‘Technology is Not Neutral: A Short Guide to Technology Ethics’, boasts a comprehensive background in foreign policy research, tech company strategy, consultancy research, and journalism. Her keynote address will delve into the far-reaching implications of the ongoing technological revolution, encompassing historical, political, and contemporary aspects of AI, data privacy, policy-making, and cybersecurity.
The Women in Cybersecurity event, now in its eighth year, has become a fixture of the conference programme. To meet increased demand, this year’s event has been expanded to accommodate a larger audience and an array of prominent female speakers. Among the topics to be addressed are the gender pay gap, imposter syndrome, mentorship, and negotiation skills.
Nicole Mills, Exhibition Director at Infosecurity Group, underscored the necessity for change and the significance of amplifying the experiences and voices of women in cybersecurity. In addition, the event seeks to provide a vision for the future of women in the industry.
The Women in Cybersecurity event, overseen by Infosecurity Magazine Editor, Beth Maundrill, will feature a keynote presentation by Stephanie Hare, a panel discussion with influential women in the industry, and networking opportunities.
The event is open not only to women in cybersecurity roles but also to allies and employers. Its objective is to provide insights into the industry from a Women in Cybersecurity perspective and to impart knowledge on how to support, attract, and retain women in the field, as well as to address barriers faced by women in organizational settings.
