Škoda is preparing for the upcoming release of its latest model, the Superb Estate, which is expected to hit the market later this year. This new addition to the Škoda lineup boasts increased space, advanced technology, and improved efficiency. Built on VWG’s MQB Evo platform, the Superb Estate promises enhanced safety and connectivity features, as well as a longer-range plug-in hybrid option and a more spacious and comfortable interior.
With a longer and higher design, the new Superb Estate offers additional headroom in the rear and increased luggage space, ranging from 690 to 1,008 litres. The vehicle’s appearance has been refreshed to create a more striking look, featuring a new grille design, LED Matrix beam headlights, and streamlined LED tail-lights that incorporate the brand’s signature crystalline elements.
In terms of efficiency, the new Superb Estate is the most aerodynamic Škoda Estate car to date, with a reduced drag coefficient of 15% to cd 0.25. The engine line-up includes six powertrains, with the new-generation plug-in hybrid delivering 204hp and an all-electric range of over 62 miles (100km) on the WLTP cycle.
Inside the new Superb Estate, sustainable materials such as eco-friendly tanned leather and textiles made of recycled materials are used. It is also equipped with a 13-inch infotainment display, head-up display, and the brand’s ‘Design Selections’ as part of a new range structure. The vehicle’s innovative features extend to a new ChatGPT AI-based chatbot, which controls vehicle and infotainment functions.
Noteworthy additions to the Superb Estate’s features include wireless fast-charging, simultaneous smartphone ventilation, and ‘back-friendly’ Ergo seats with 10 pneumatically controlled massage cushions. The vehicle also includes Simply Clever features, such as an electrically operated load cover and a display cleaner in the Jumbo Box tray.
The latest estate also introduces new assistance systems, including turn assist, crossroad assist, and collision avoidance assist functions. Park Assist technology allows the Superb Estate to automatically park in perpendicular and parallel parking spaces, with the vehicle stopping on its own if an obstacle is recognized.
Since its introduction in 2009, the Superb Estate has remained a popular choice in the Škoda lineup, with the 2016 estate accounting for 54% of the 860,000 vehicles produced. More information regarding pricing and full equipment details for the new Superb Estate will be released closer to its launch date.
Enthusiasts of Škoda can look forward to the highly-anticipated release of the all-new Superb Estate, as the brand continues to impress with its commitment to innovation and excellence. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting new release!
