Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently delivered a keynote address at the ET Women Conclave-2024 in Gurugram, where he underscored the significant impact of women entrepreneurs on the future of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed admiration for the contributions of Nari Shakti in the region’s growth journey, particularly in rural and remote areas, where women-led initiatives have made a tangible difference at the grassroots level.
During his address, the Lt Governor lauded the accomplishments of women entrepreneurs in various sectors including ITeS, MSMEs, the service industry, agro-based industry, and handicrafts, attributing their success to their unwavering dedication and hard work. He also reaffirmed the commitment of the UT Administration to fostering an environment conducive to the socio-economic empowerment of women.
At the ET Women Conclave 2024, the Lt Governor also discussed educational programs aimed at enhancing the skills of women in the universities and higher educational institutions of the UT, with a particular emphasis on achieving gender equality in education.
In a separate event at the Business Conclave 2024 in New Delhi, the Lt Governor shared the achievements of Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370, outlining his vision for the future. He highlighted the substantial growth across various sectors and the ongoing transformation geared towards achieving inclusive and rapid development in alignment with the aspirations of the populace.
In addition, the Lt Governor engaged with students of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), addressing the challenges and accomplishments in diverse sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed pride in the emergence of Jammu and Kashmir as a hub of innovation, industries, tourism, education, sports, agriculture, health, entrepreneurship, and handicrafts.
Furthermore, the Lt Governor emphasized the administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for marginalized sections, youth, women, and farmers to realize their full potential. Concrete measures have been put in place to ensure a fear-free, corruption-free, and terrorism-free environment, alongside a focus on people-centric governance, efficient public service delivery, and the saturation of welfare schemes for the empowerment of the common man.
The Lt Governor stressed that policies are not mere documents but reflections of the dreams and aspirations of the people. The active participation of the populace in policy-making has resulted in development works being tailored to their specific needs.
