He has outlined his intention to allocate the $50 million award towards the education of deceased veterans’ children, veteran mental health, and the education of future military leaders.

Both Longoria and McRaven now join the esteemed company of previous award recipients, including Van Jones, José Andrés, and Dolly Parton. Jeff Bezos, who intends to contribute the majority of his wealth, established the Bezos Courage and Civility Award and currently holds the position of the second richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a net worth of $201 billion.
