The Buckinghamshire Food & Drink Awards are making a triumphant return after an eight-year hiatus, with a spectacular ceremony scheduled for later this year. Revived by Events and PR, the team behind the successful SME Business Awards, National Business Women’s Awards, and the National Building & Construction Awards, the competition aims to honour the achievements of the food and drink sector in the county.
This year’s awards will introduce several new categories, with finalists selected through a public vote before an expert judging panel determines the ultimate winners. The previous edition of the awards took place in 2016, and they have been reimagined to recognise the resilience and success of hospitality businesses in the face of recent challenges.
According to awards director Damian Cummins, the current environment necessitates increased support for restaurants, pubs, farm shops, butchers, and other establishments in the hospitality industry. The primary goal of the awards is to celebrate the resilience, skill, and stature of these establishments within the county.
New categories introduced this year include ‘Best Street Eats and Bevs’, ‘Café or Tearoom of the Year’, ‘Brewery of the Year’, ‘Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Best Artisan Bakery’, ‘Top Local Pub’, and ‘Best Newcomer’. The awards invite the public to nominate their favourite hospitality businesses in Buckinghamshire, and nominations are now open. If you have any eateries, bakers, or pubs in mind that have impressed you or hold special memories, now is the time to show your support.
