In 2023, Lummus strategically acquired the Zimpro wet air oxidation technology and PACT system, in addition to associated intellectual property, pilot plants, and laboratory equipment. These state-of-the-art technologies offer a variety of environmental benefits over traditional treatment methods, including the elimination of harmful contaminants such as PFAS, the conversion and destruction of elevated waste streams, and the reuse of municipal sludge to create products or energy. Furthermore, these technologies eliminate less environmentally friendly treatment options and provide energy-efficient non-combustion alternatives.
