Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is poised to introduce its CO2 mechanical refrigeration systems in the North American market. This strategic move comes on the heels of the company’s successful implementation of CO2 natural refrigerant in various global regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Since 2004, Carrier has been incorporating CO2 technology into its mechanical refrigeration systems, garnering a loyal customer base in over 35 countries. Notably, the company has delivered more than 20,000 CO2 systems in Europe alone, underscoring its expertise in this environmentally friendly technology.

In an official statement, Jimmy Washington, the Managing Director of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration for North America, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, stating, “We are excited to bring this innovative technology to North America to support the creation of a more sustainable future for both people and our planet.”

The company’s objective is to offer its eco-friendly technology to diverse industries in North America, particularly focusing on industrial applications, food and grocery retail, and convenience stores. As part of its current product range, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is making CO2 compressor racks and heat pumps available for mechanical refrigeration systems, with plans to introduce condensing units in the near future.

The introduction of Carrier’s CO2 mechanical refrigeration systems in the North American market is not only a strategic business move but also a substantial contribution to environmental sustainability. By providing eco-friendly refrigeration solutions, Carrier aligns itself with the global effort to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change.

This initiative is poised to benefit businesses in North America by offering them the opportunity to adopt more sustainable and energy-efficient refrigeration technologies. The shift towards CO2 refrigeration systems is expected to yield long-term advantages, such as decreased carbon footprint and operational cost savings for businesses across multiple sectors.

As Carrier Commercial Refrigeration takes steps to promote the use of CO2 technology in North America, it is imperative to recognise the potential of this innovation in driving positive environmental change. Embracing sustainable practices and embracing eco-friendly refrigeration solutions enables businesses to contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future for generations to come.
