The eagerly awaited return of the Big Banquet festival to Caldicot Castle has sparked a wave of excitement among food enthusiasts and festival attendees in Wales. The event is scheduled to take place on the late May Bank Holiday weekends, from May 24 to 27 and May 31 to June 2, and will showcase thrilling high-wire acts, family-friendly circus entertainment, and a remarkable selection of delectable street food.

One of the most highly anticipated performances at the festival will be presented by the renowned aerialist, Chris Bullzini, who will demonstrate his gravity-defying talents on a custom-built high wire rig suspended eight metres above the energetic crowds. As dusk descends, the festival will transform into the “Big Banquet After Dark,” promising a more mature festival ambiance, complete with a spectacular fire show finale by the Pembrokeshire Fire Spinners, guest DJs, and an electrifying atmosphere.

The mouth-watering food lineup will encompass a diverse mix of street food vendors, offering an array of culinary delights such as Sri Lankan street food, sous vide flank steak, award-winning burgers, authentic Jerk chicken, Korean fried chicken, Malaysian market-inspired dishes, fresh tacos, Neapolitan-style pizza, and much more. For those with a sweet tooth, delightful options such as churros, patisserie, warm Belgian chocolate brownies, and a boozy twist on traditional crumble will be available.

To complement the exceptional food offerings, attendees can also look forward to a thoughtfully curated selection of beverages. The bar menu will feature locally sourced and sustainable drinks, including a variety of beers, spirits, and soft drinks to suit every palate.

The festival’s ringmaster and founder, Matt, also known as “the Hat,” conveyed his enthusiasm for this year’s event, stating, “We’re excited to bring back some Big Banquet favourites from last year alongside a great line-up of exciting new cooks joining the circus this year. We always try to have that mix of familiar faces with the opportunity for people to try new cuisines, new chefs or restaurants that they may not yet have had the chance to visit.”

Tickets for the Big Banquet festival are priced at £5 for adults and free for children under 16, providing families with the opportunity to enjoy a day of fun without breaking the bank. It is recommended that festival-goers secure their tickets early through the official website to avoid missing out on this exceptional event.

In summary, the Big Banquet festival at Caldicot Castle is set to be a remarkable celebration of food, entertainment, and community spirit. With an enchanting lineup of talented performers and a diverse range of culinary delights, the festival is poised to captivate the senses and create lasting memories for attendees of all ages.
