Siete Leguas Automotive Expands Operations with New Plant in Durango

Siete Leguas Automotive, a Mexican company specialising in the production of aluminium automotive components, has recently inaugurated its second plant in Durango. This significant investment of US$53.8 million underscores the company’s dedication to the region’s economy and will result in the creation of 300 new direct jobs, with a total of 467 positions across both plants.

The opening of the new facility was presided over by Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal, who expressed gratitude for the company’s confidence in the region. Governor Villegas underscored the government’s role in fostering an environment conducive to investment and job creation. “Thanks to Siete Leguas for believing in La Laguna and in Durango,” he stated, acknowledging the company’s contribution to the local economy and its employment of skilled labour.

Established in late 2018, Siete Leguas Automotive boasts over 30 years of expertise in producing high-precision components for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) applications. Its diverse portfolio encompasses components for engines, transmissions, and suspension systems, serving leading OEMs such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Suzuki, BRP, Eaton Cummins, and Tremec Ford, among others.

The expansion of Siete Leguas Automotive in Gómez Palacio is part of a broader trend of investment in Durango, with 31 projects set to materialise over the course of the year. These initiatives represent a combined investment exceeding US$1.7 billion and the creation of 26,000 direct jobs, reflecting a robust and dynamic economy.
