The 77th Annual Miss South Dakota Scholarship Competition in Brookings is currently underway, with the first of two preliminary rounds taking place last night. The theme for this year’s competition, Swingin’ Glam, sets the stage for an exciting and glamorous event.
A total of 20 talented contestants are competing for the prestigious title, divided into two groups. Miss Hot Springs, Sydney Morgan, emerged as the fitness winner for the Sigma group, while Miss Rolling Prairies, Joelle Simpson, impressed the audience with a harp performance and secured the title of talent winner for the Delta group.
In addition to her outstanding performance, Simpson also secured a spot among the top 3 in the online People’s Choice voting, showcasing her popularity and support from her fans. The voting closed last night, and the winner will be guaranteed a spot in the semifinals.
