Cosworth Announces New Leadership Team to Drive Future Growth

Cosworth, a prominent global entity in automotive powertrain technologies, has recently implemented significant changes to its executive leadership team in anticipation of sustained success and expansion. Gerald Forsythe, a crucial stakeholder of Indeck-Cosworth, LLC, one of Cosworth’s two shareholders, has been appointed as the new Chairman. Additionally, the esteemed luxury automotive and motorsport consultancy R-Universe has been enlisted to reinforce the leadership team.

Dr. Florian Kamelger has been designated as the new CEO of Cosworth, and Dr. Andreas Baenziger will assume the position of Deputy Chairman, both joining the Company’s Board of Directors.
The newly formed team will embark on a comprehensive evaluation of the business, with a focus on harnessing the company’s core expertise in developing and manufacturing world-leading powertrains. This will entail harnessing the talent within Cosworth’s various business units – Cosworth Propulsion, Delta Cosworth, and Cosworth Electronics – and making investments in new technologies to maintain the company’s position at the forefront of automotive propulsion.

Gerald Forsythe, Chairman of Cosworth, conveyed his enthusiasm about assuming the new role, emphasizing the company’s world-class talent, expertise, and solid customer base. Founded in 1958 by legendary Lotus engineers Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth, Cosworth has been a trailblazer in innovation throughout its history. Headquartered in Northampton, UK, with a facility in Indianapolis, USA, the company has played a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge propulsion and technology systems to various sectors, including automotive, motorsport, aerospace, and marine. With 176 wins as an engine supplier in Formula One, Cosworth holds the third position in the list of most wins, behind Ferrari and Mercedes.

The company’s current projects include the development of bespoke V12 engines for Gordon Murray Automotive and Aston Martin, as well as a newly announced partnership with the revitalized Bizzarrini brand.
