VUMC Appoints Lakmini Kidder as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Revenue Officer

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Lakmini Kidder, MBA, as the new Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). With her previous experience as Vice President of Enterprise Revenue Cycle Management at Johns Hopkins Health System, Kidder brings a wealth of expertise to her new role, which she will assume on July 22.

In this expanded capacity, Kidder will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of VUMC’s integrated revenue cycle, including hospitals, clinics, the Vanderbilt Medical Group, and Vanderbilt Integrated Providers. Her duties will also entail managing revenue management and reimbursement functions, such as charge master management, pricing strategies, and governmental reporting.

Cecelia B. Moore, VUMC’s Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, underscored the significance of Kidder’s extensive experience in revenue-related leadership and consulting roles in prior organizations. Given the health system’s growth, Kidder’s appointment signifies the need for cohesive strategic leadership and broad expertise in revenue management functions.

In addition to her crucial role, Kidder will serve as an advisor to the leadership team on revenue cycle management, reimbursement, and strategic revenue cycle operations. Collaboration with the VUMC Finance team will be essential to drive integration and transformation throughout revenue management processes, with the objective of improving efficiency, increasing reimbursement, and implementing advanced technologies to enhance the patient experience.

Kidder’s commendable track record includes exemplary leadership roles at Johns Hopkins and Regions Hospital and HealthPartners in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she led her team to receive the “MAP” award from the Healthcare Financial Management Association for pursuing revenue cycle excellence. With her background and experience, Kidder is well-prepared to address the complex challenges at VUMC.
