The recent partnership between the US litigation finance firm, Tribeca Capital, and Dublin-based Nera Capital, has facilitated the establishment of a new division focused on providing funding for anti-trust claims. This venture has been made possible through a substantial $50m (£39.3m) investment.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to address anti-trust claims regarding fair competition and the prevention of marketplace monopolies. Additionally, the newly formed division will finance law firm portfolios, a move expected to unlock capital for reinvestment in new cases.

Consequently, Tribeca Capital is actively recruiting for five new positions as a direct result of this expansion. It is noteworthy that Tribeca Capital, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, was initially established in 2017.

Rory Donadio, chief executive of Tribeca Capital, emphasized the critical role that commercial litigation funding plays in facilitating the progress of legal proceedings. It serves as a crucial financial tool in ensuring the smooth management of cases and access to justice.

Nera Capital, with offices in Manchester and the Netherlands, has been making significant strides in expanding its business into the US market. Over the past 18 months, the company has successfully settled four major claims in the country, with an additional 12 claims currently being financed. Furthermore, Nera Capital will collaborate with leading US law firms in the mass litigation market.

Furthermore, she underscored the company’s core values of innovation and integrity and the exciting possibilities for growth and global influence that this strategic alliance presents.

Established in 2011, Nera Capital has been steadily making its mark in the industry. The continued expansion into the US market signifies a significant milestone for the company, opening up new doors for future opportunities.

In conclusion, this collaboration marks a significant development in the field of litigation finance, with two established firms joining forces to address anti-trust claims and provide funding for law firm portfolios.
