The African Development Bank, in collaboration with the Vice Presidency for Regional Development, Integration, and Service Delivery, is pleased to announce the launch of the Women Business Associations Mapping Project in Africa. This pioneering initiative aims to identify and map 160 small and medium-sized businesswomen’s associations in 16 African countries that have not been recognized by previous Bank studies or other international institutions. Supported by the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa and the Gender Equality Trust Fund, this project demonstrates the bank’s dedication to empowering women entrepreneurs across the continent.

The official launch event is scheduled for 26th June 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Abidjan Time (GMT) at the African Development Bank CCIA building, Room 01 E03 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be live-streamed online, providing a convenient opportunity to participate.

By actively engaging with this project, individuals will gain valuable insights into its objectives, as well as an understanding of how mapping businesswomen’s associations will unlock critical opportunities and resources for them. For those interested in joining the livestream or learning more about the project, further information is available via email at [email protected] or through the official website at https://cse.afdb.org/.
