OQ Technology Secures EU Cybersecurity Project

OQ Technology, a company with a subsidiary in Greece, has successfully secured a tender from the EU for the Security Assessments for Networks and Services in 5G (SAND5G) project. This notable achievement was realized through the company’s participation in a consortium of multiple companies that vied for the project and emerged as the triumphant winner.

The project, which falls under the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL)-JU-SIMPLE, aims to deliver a risk and impact assessment platform to assist 5G stakeholders in securing their systems and services. Additionally, it seeks to provide support to National Authorities and Member States’ Regulators in evaluating the security status and applied measures that align with European 5G cybersecurity policies and the proposed EU toolbox for 5G security.

Over a span of three years, the project will be undertaken by a competitive consortium comprising of seven partners, namely OQ Technology Hellas, University of Patras, P-NET, Sphynx Hellas, WINGS ICT Solutions, Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy, and Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance.

As part of their role in the project, OQ Technology will be tasked with providing a satellite NTN IoT pilot to assess two possible network architectures for OQ satellites. Furthermore, they will establish communication with field IoTs using a 5G Core Network. Additionally, OQ Technology will produce an Interim report on Dissemination, Exploitation, Standardization & Sustainability.
