Zepto, a prominent delivery service provider, has officially announced its partnership with Reverie Language Technologies to implement localisation into its Zepto rider app. The objective of this collaboration is to revolutionize the way Zepto communicates with its delivery partners, ultimately establishing a more inclusive and accessible digital environment for users throughout India. By localising the app in six native languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, and Bengali, Zepto aims to address the linguistic challenges encountered by its delivery partners.
Shubham Agarwal, Senior Product Manager at Zepto, stressed the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our delivery partners, who frequently communicate in local languages, encounter difficulties in navigating an English-dominated digital landscape. Our intention in localising our rider app in native languages is to make it more intuitive and user-friendly for them. This adaptation has already resulted in increased adoption among newly onboarded delivery partners at Zepto.”
The decision to localise the rider app arises from Zepto’s commitment to comprehending and fulfilling the requirements of its delivery partners. Empowering them to navigate the app in their native language streamlines the delivery process, ensuring prompt and efficient service without compromise.
The collaboration between Zepto and Reverie was a strategic endeavor, capitalizing on Reverie’s proficiency in app localisation and its commendable track record of successful engagements with prompt delivery apps. Shubham observed, “Reverie’s advanced, high-quality Neural Machine Translation (NMT) and Transliteration outputs, combined with its responsive and supportive team, positioned it as the ideal partner for our app localisation initiative.”
Following the localisation efforts, delivery partners have exhibited a preference for the app in their native language, indicating successful adaptation and engagement. Furthermore, the localisation has enhanced the overall app experience, resulting in heightened participation in additional features such as referral schemes and loyalty programs, ultimately improving partner retention and engagement.
This localisation initiative is being executed in a phased manner, gradually expanding to encompass all regional languages across various app modules. This approach enables Zepto to evaluate the adoption and impact of localisation, particularly among new delivery partners who are more open to using the app in their native language.
Looking ahead, the partnership between Zepto and Reverie is positioned for continued expansion, establishing a new standard for inclusivity and accessibility in the delivery service industry. As Zepto continues to advance and develop, this initiative epitomizes its commitment to enhancing the delivery partner experience through technological innovation and localisation.
