The recent “Kaushal Samwaad” event was a remarkable gathering that brought together Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Shri Jayant Chaudhary, and Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, in celebration of World Youth Skills Day. This globally recognised event, sanctioned by the United Nations, united professionals and trainers who have benefitted from various Skill India schemes and programmes.
In his address, Shri Jayant Chaudhary praised the Ministry’s efforts to fortify India’s skilling, education, and entrepreneurship ecosystem. He stressed the significance of lifelong learning for young talent and the necessity of exposing individuals to diverse skill sets from an early age, in accordance with the new National Education Policy.
On the other hand, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari underscored the Ministry’s commitment to providing both skills and education to the youth, preparing them for a self-reliant India. His statements were supported by the impressive numbers of youth trained and engaged as apprentices under the PMKVY scheme.
The event also welcomed key dignitaries and young professionals who shared their inspiring stories of transformation through skill development. These professionals are a testament to the Ministry’s efforts to nurture inclusivity and diversity in the workforce, as evidenced by women taking up traditionally male-dominated job roles.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of skilling for the future resonates deeply with MSDE’s dedication to creating a comprehensive skilling ecosystem. Over the last nine years, the Ministry has significantly expanded its reach and effectiveness, with notable reforms such as the decentralisation of skill development and the transition to computer-based tests.
Looking ahead, MSDE is also focusing on integrating advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) into its training programmes. This forward-thinking approach ensures that India’s youth are well-prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
The “Kaushal Samwaad” event not only celebrated the achievements of skilled professionals but also highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and enhancing employability across India. As the nation commemorates the 10th-year celebrations of the Skill India Mission, MSDE’s dedication to promoting lifelong learning and embracing new technologies stands as a beacon of hope for India’s youth.
