The automotive industry in Malaysia has been experiencing a notable upturn, with new vehicle sales rising by eight percent in the first four months of 2024 compared to the same period last year. In response to these developments, Automechanika Kuala Lumpur, scheduled to take place from 1 to 3 August, will showcase the latest automotive solutions, products, and services at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The upcoming edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur will cover an expansive area of nearly 10,000 sqm across Hall 1 – 5, featuring a wide range of fringe events that reflect smart mobility, new energy vehicles, manufacturing, logistics & fleets, aftermarket, and sustainability & lifestyle trends. This initiative aims to support Malaysia’s ongoing transition in the automotive industry.
Underpinning this transition is the nation’s New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP 2030), which provides policy support for the growth of the electric vehicle industry, and new energy vehicle development and technological advancement. This support is provided through governance, incentives, regulations, harmonization of standards and more.
Fiona Chiew, the General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, highlighted the importance of smart mobility, electrification, digitalization, and sustainability in driving the transition of the automotive industry. The increasing uptake of electric vehicles is also spurring technological innovation and sustainable development, all of which will be addressed at Automechanika Kuala Lumpur.
The inaugural Automotive Mobility Solutions Zone, which is set to make its debut, will focus on urban development, city planning, and smart mobility, providing insights into the policy backdrop and developmental landscape of the new energy vehicle sector. This zone will showcase electric vehicles, battery systems, charging technologies, digitalization, Internet of Things (IoT), and more, with leading brands and companies such as Hella, Henkel, Launch, Scoot-A-Long, and Vanli participating.
The Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference, taking place on 1 – 2 August, will delve deeper into smart mobility solutions, electrification and digitalization, automotive logistics, warehousing and supply chains, fleet management, automotive manufacturing, transformation and automation, as well as sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). Renowned speakers from companies such as Bosch Rexroth, Forwardlog, Henkel, MARii, MDEC, SHRDC, Swift, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Volkswagen, Volvo Trucks, and ZEVA will share their expertise.
Recognizing the growing demand for e-commerce, ridesharing, and food delivery services, the Commercial Vehicle & Fleet Zone will introduce parts & components solutions, maintenance tools for buses and trucks, and fleets like motorcycles, cars, and light vehicles.
Furthermore, the Automotive Repair, Maintenance & Care / Body & Paint / Accessories & Customizing Zone will offer a wide range of aftermarket products, technologies, and solutions, including diagnostic and repair equipment, car wash, car care, detailing, oils, lubricants, body and paint, and replacement parts. Notable exhibitors such as Alientech, Autel, FlexiShield, Launch, OBD, Reflek, Thinkcar, and TOPDON will participate in this zone.
To provide attendees with updated knowledge in the automotive aftermarket, the Collision Repair Training Workshop (1 – 3 August) will feature the innovative Whole Vehicle Training Platform, offering in-depth insights into the market from industry experts. The workshop will cover topics related to electric vehicle systems, diagnostics, efficiency, personal protective equipment (PPE), body and paint, through valuable hands-on demonstrations and theory-based discussions, targeting technicians, mechanics, and workshop owners.
Lastly, the autoFEST@KL (19:00 – 21:00, 2 August) will provide a platform for interactive events and activities, including a Music Party, DIY Workshops, Gaming sessions, and displays highlighting the charm of motorsports and classic cars.
With all these exciting offerings, Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2024 is set to be an informative and engaging event for industry professionals and enthusiasts alike, driving the automotive industry towards a greener and more advanced future.
