Yayoi Kusama’s latest exhibition, “Every Day I Pray For Love,” is now open at the Victoria Miro gallery in London, marking her fourteenth solo show. Kusama is renowned as the world’s top-selling artist, drawing immense crowds for her immersive art experiences, particularly her mirrored rooms. This exhibition features the new work, “Infinity Mirrored Room – Beauty Described by a Spherical Heart,” which invites visitors into a hexagonal space filled with dynamic LED lighting patterns and a large mirrored sphere reflecting an infinite array of images. Kusama’s exploration of mirrors has evolved over sixty years, with this work paying homage to her earlier pieces, including “Infinity Mirrored Room – Love Forever” and “Narcissus Garden.” Additionally, two substantial fabric installations, “Death of Nerves” and “The Moment of Regeneration,” are displayed prominently. The former consists of multicoloured strips that evoke natural forms, while the latter presents a cluster of polka-dotted structures symbolising life cycles. The upper gallery also exhibits numerous paintings from her current series, showcasing intricate details and vivid colours. Outside, visitors can view the large stainless steel sculpture “Ladder to Heaven” and three new bronze sculptures inspired by her paintings. Despite the tickets being free and currently sold out, returned tickets may become available, and additional slots will open online every Monday at noon for the week ahead.
