Hey folks, I’ve got some juicy news for you! A Brooklyn man and two Montreal residents are in hot water after being charged in New York for allegedly exporting technology to Russia. And get this, the equipment they were sending over was actually supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Can you believe it? The accused individuals are Salimdzhon Nasriddinov, Nikolay Goltsev, and Kristina Puzyreva. They’re facing charges of smuggling, conspiracy to violate sanctions, and wire fraud conspiracy. Nasriddinov, a Russian-Tajikistan national, was nabbed in Brooklyn, while Goltsev and Puzyreva, who are Russian-Canadian nationals, were arrested in a Manhattan hotel during a visit to Nasriddinov. The prosecutors are pushing to keep them behind bars until the trial, claiming that they’re a flight risk due to their strong ties abroad. We don’t know who their lawyers are yet, but I’m sure they’ll have their hands full with this case. Stay tuned for more updates on this wild story!
