Michael Block’s Exciting Equipment Changes for the World Wide Technology Championship

2 min read

Michael Block, the golfer who stole the hearts of equipment fans at the PGA Championship, has made some interesting changes to his gear for the World Wide Technology Championship. Despite the popularity of his trusty TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC 7-iron, which he used to make a hole-in-one, Block has decided to mix things up. Here are four equipment changes that he has made.

First up, Block has added a new driver to his bag. It’s a limited-edition Oracle Red Bull Stealth 2 Plus driver, which he received while in Qatar for the Formula One Qatar Grand Prix. This 9-degree driver has a neutral weight setting and is set to a lower hosel setting for a lower flight and spin.

Next, Block has made an adjustment to his 3-wood. He noticed that he was getting too much spin, so he moved the sliding weight in the sole of the fairway wood more forward. This change has helped him achieve a better trajectory and fly through the wind.

Block has also introduced a new lob wedge to his iron set. The TaylorMade MG4 Raw 60-degree wedge has a softer face that gives him more touch and feel. It also helps him generate more spin on his short-game shots.

Lastly, Block has made a small modification to his putter. He still uses his trusty Odyssey White Hot 2-ball putter from 2001, but he has added a fresh line to the putter face. Using a Sharpie and a ruler, he drew a straight black line to aid with alignment.

These equipment changes show that Block is not afraid to mix things up and try new gear. It will be interesting to see how these changes affect his performance at the World Wide Technology Championship. Stay tuned for updates!
