Feldspar has launched its first retail pop-up at London’s Corinthia Hotel, offering handmade bone china and exclusive products. The shop design reflects classic hotel aesthetics, providing a tactile experience for customers. Founders Cath and Jeremy Brown are excited about connecting with shoppers and the potential for future retail opportunities.
This festive season, Devon-based bone china brand Feldspar has opened a pop-up shop at the Corinthia Hotel in Mayfair, marking its first venture into retail. Co-founded by Cath and Jeremy Brown in 2016, Feldspar is renowned for its handcrafted fine bone china that blends modern design with classic craftsmanship. All products are made in the UK, highlighting the endangered craft of bone china production. The elegant pop-up features a design inspired by traditional hotel interiors and showcases an extensive range of Feldspar’s offerings, plus exclusive new items.
The design of the pop-up shop incorporates deep green panelling and walnut vitrines, reminiscent of classic hotel aesthetics. As Jeremy Brown stated, “We were inspired by old-fashioned hotel experiences – panelled walls with white detailing to pick up on the white of our bone china.” The pop-up also includes a unique nutcracker, made from walnut and brass, showcasing the brand’s venture into wooden products. Cath Brown explains, “It’s a branching-out for us, as it’s made from walnut and brass rather than ceramic.”
Feldspar’s pop-up enhances customer interaction, allowing visitors to handle and appreciate the unique textures and designs of the ceramics prior to purchase. Jeremy noted, “It’s been a lot of fun… meeting and chatting with customers is invaluable and interesting.” This engaging retail space is already generating excitement, with plans for future events in the works.
Open until 5 January 2025, the Feldspar pop-up at Corinthia Hotel invites festive shoppers to explore a fusion of artistic tradition and modern design, embodying the brand’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Feldspar’s temporary shop at the Corinthia Hotel signifies the brand’s expansion into physical retail spaces, showcasing its focus on traditional craftsmanship in bone china. Established in 2016, the studio emerged from a desire to create functional and beautifully designed ceramics while preserving dying crafts in the UK. This initiative not only offers customers the chance to engage with the products but also highlights the blend of modern aesthetics with historical influences visible in the luxury setting of a Mayfair hotel.
Feldspar’s festive pop-up at the Corinthia Hotel represents a significant milestone for the brand, providing a tactile shopping experience while promoting traditionalUK bone china craftsmanship. With exclusive product launches and plans for future retail ventures, the brand aims to deepen connections with customers and celebrate the uniqueness of its design philosophy. The initiative enriches the holiday shopping atmosphere in London, imparting sophistication and artistry to the consumer experience.
