Volvo Cars’ Electric Revolution: Sales Soar and Recharge Models Lead the Way

Volvo Cars is on a roll! Their sales have been steadily increasing, and October was no exception. In fact, they reported their 14th consecutive month of growth, with global sales reaching 59,861 cars, a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. What’s driving this growth? Well, it’s their fully electric cars! These electrified Recharge models made up 36% of all Volvo cars sold in October. But it’s not just October that saw impressive sales numbers. From January to October 2023, Volvo sold a total of 569,019 cars, which is 18% higher than the same period in 2022. That’s a significant increase!

Let’s take a closer look at the regional sales. In Europe, sales grew by 13% compared to last year, with 24,892 cars sold. And Recharge cars accounted for a whopping 55% of total sales in the region. Over in the US, Volvo’s sales grew by 19% in October, with 11,296 cars sold. And guess what? Sales of fully electric cars grew by a staggering 49%! Recharge models made up 27% of all cars sold in the US during October. However, sales in China remained flat compared to last year, with 15,041 cars sold. But there’s still good news for Volvo, as Recharge cars grew by 27% in the Chinese market.

Now, let’s talk about the top-selling models. In October, the XC60 stole the show with 20,212 cars sold. That’s an increase from last year’s 17,531 units. The XC40 came in second place with 17,022 cars sold, followed by the XC90 with 7,961 cars sold. These models are clearly a hit with customers!
